The last Kampong in Singapore

Kampong Lorong Buangkok was built in 1956 and is now the last standing kampong in Singapore. Kampong Lorong Buangkok had a postal code of 1954, until the 1st of September 1995, when Singapore had the postal code system changed from a 4 digit number to a 6 digit number.

The letter box 📮

This is an example of the newest looking hut in the Kampong area. Even though it is an old structure, it gives us a feel of a modern bungalow apartment, and at the same time let us experience a taste of the Kampong spirit.

Nowadays, it is a rare sight to see those wires hanging in mid air in Singapore, as most of the wires are installed underground. But did you realise that these existed in Kampong Buangkok?
